The Scorpion SBS-T (Small Blasting System) is a powerful and compact, rugged light-weight Solid-State Electronic Capacitor Discharge Blasting Machine meant for Electric Initiation and Non- Electric Shock Tube Initiation. For electric initiation, this unit also incorporates a Circuit Load Indicator (CLI) allowing the operator to verify a complete circuit has been attached to the Output Binding Posts prior to initiation and the level of resistance measured on that circuit. The unit is completely sealed making it waterproof and impervious to dust, dirt, sand, and debris. One 9V battery provides hundreds of Charge/Fire cycles and loads smoothly through the side of the unit into a waterproof compartment secured in place by an easy-on/off battery cap that requires no tools.

Electric Initiation: The Scorpion SBS-T features EIT’s specially developed Heavy-Duty Push Down Binding Posts for quick and secure lead line attachment, even if wearing gloves. The CLI uses a secure blasting-safe signal to detect a circuit and displays the measured resistance level so the operator may ensure it is within the expected resistance range and firing capacity of the SBS-T. When “Charge” is depressed the CLI is immediately disengaged. It will only re-engage when “Charge” is released and the redundant safety allows use of the indicator once again. The SBS-T incorporates 2 recessed covered pushbutton switches for Charge/Fire operations and is engineered for rapid charging.

Non-Electric Initiation: The Scorpion SBS-T incorporates a separate 2.5kV high voltage circuit and capacitor, different from that of the Electric Initiator, to create a pulse that initiates non-electric shock tube. Using two separate initiation circuits protects the output of either system and insures dual reliability. The SBS-T uses a guarded pushbutton switch located on the side of the unit to activate the Non-Electric system.
